Sponsor a child
Sponsors provide financial support and emotional backing for children to pursue their own plans. We opened sponsorship because the school can only carry so many children itself — last year we were able to fund five out of our own budget.
USD 580 provides, for one full school year:
- Two pairs of school uniform and a pair of shoes
- School supplies — pens, exercise books, materials
- Basic medical and health care
- Three meals a day
- Accommodation in the dormitory
What you get back: regular updates by WhatsApp or email, exam results and news through the year, and if you’d like it, a phone or video call so you can get to know the child.
Give directly
Tanzanian bank accounts are difficult to connect to international donation portals — most services simply don’t support them. We are working on it. In the meantime these all work, and all of them reach us.

What we're building: the new kitchen
The shell is up and the roof is on. What remains is the fit-out. We have broken it into five stages so a donor can fund one piece rather than facing the whole thing — the doors and windows, or the painting, are each a complete, finishable job.

How we are funded
Three sources. School fees, paid in full or in part by most families. Donations from individuals, volunteers and their networks. And a share of the revenue of Astro Safaris and Tours Ltd, the tour company run by our founders, which contributes to the school and offers volunteers below-market rates.
We receive no government funding.
Give something other than money
Volunteers arriving with luggage space have brought most of what the school owns. What is genuinely needed: English books, coloured pencils and pens, plates and cups, sanitary pads, toothbrushes, footballs and board games, and above all laptops and projectors.
