Hodari Education Foundation
A community-based organisation registered with Ngorongoro District Council, working with Maasai communities across the district on girls’ education, family support and water.
Delivery record
Hodari has run community outreach in Ngorongoro District for a decade, visiting dispersed Maasai communities at least every two weeks and running workshops on the value of education, gender equality and the harm caused by female genital mutilation.
In 2025 it delivered the Girls Education in Tanzania project, funded through Grassroots Nest for Innovations and Change and Community Support Initiatives Tanzania: thirty girls supported through secondary school, a residential empowerment camp, and community sensitisation across Orkiu, Oloipiri, Lopolu, Ng’arwa, Sakala and Waso. Quarterly narrative reports were submitted.
In 2026 it delivered five costed activities under the same project — health, hygiene and well-being support; in-school girls’ clubs at Sale, Loliondo, Samunge and Digodigo; parental and guardian engagement meetings; community sensitisation; and a monitoring and evaluation exercise. Each was budgeted and reported to line-item level.
Working with MACAO
Hodari works alongside Malezi AIDS/Care Awareness Organization in Ngorongoro District. The two organisations are separately registered and separately governed. Hodari’s programmes reach public schools and villages across the district; Bright School is one of the institutions it works with.
